Abbies photography

I completed the challenge.Each day the photo was different.If I was to do this challenge again i would make sure i keep up to date and not post two photos on one day.I found it fun because I have always wanted to do a photo challenge and have never completed one.

When we first got our lego figures we went out and practised using forced perspective.I went to the castle.My first few photos were unsuccessful but the rest went okay.I found it difficult at first to place my lego figure in a place where it looked  a different size to a building but then found a place in the castle where my lego figure look giant compared to a building.Some of the photos turned out good but others not as good as I was using one of the colleges cameras that I wasn’t used to.The photo below was my favourite.The lighting in this photo gives the building blurry edges and focuses on the main subject.

For the Christmas market shop we created a photo to sell.My photo was of my Lego figure holding a present.I choose this photo because it was more forced perspective than the other I printed off.I chose to sell my photo at £5.Unfortunately my photo didn’t sell if I was to do this again I would make my photo more creative to make it stand out.I choose a white frame do my photo would also stand out.I would also may be next time lower the price.

Forced perspective is a method which is used in photography to make objects appear a different size.Before we begin our new project we tried to create our own forced perspective photos.In my group we went up to the castle and the cathedral.The first few images i took were unsuccessful.

This is my favourite photo I took as in the background you can see a person walking by which makes my model  look tall and is leaning on the cathedral.The lighting in this image is not too good so next time I will try to use better lighting.

After I had done this shoot I researched a photographer who uses forced perspective.Rich McCor is photographer who travels the world going to different  landmarks and adding things using paper cutouts.

In this lesson we all went into one of the studios to experiment with  our lego figures and sweet wrappers as photographic gels.We each had a few sweet wrappers at placed them in front of the lens or on the flash.I had to make sure it was placed against the lens or flash properly otherwise the photo wouldn’t be very clearly.After we had finished in the studio we went outside to experiment more.I think the photos I took outside on my phone turned out better than the ones I took in the studio.The effect of using the wrapper in the photo would depend on the colour.If the wrapper was red it could give off an anger emotion or if it was green it could make the image festive.

For this shoot I went to the Lincolnshire life museum to take photos of my lego figure using forced perspective.Making it look like he lives in big world and he is small or a small world and he is big.The shoot went well i took quite a few photos.If i was to do this shoot again i would use my camera and try to use different angle when taking the photos to make the image interesting.I liked this shoot as the museum had many different scenarios to place my Lego figure in.

For this shoot I wanted to try and get my lego figure look like he is holding or standing near a bauble.In the background I placed a long piece of tinsel to add texture to the images.I took all of my photos on my phone.If I was to do this shoot again I would make sure that I have a proper background as it will make the photos look more professional.The photo below is one of my favourite as the colours of the tinsel and the bauble give the photo a festive feeling.

For this shoot I planned to make my lego figure look the same size as a present. I wrapped up a small present and placed it in front of a piece of black paper.I added props to the set up.This was the final shoot so one of the photos is going to be for sale at the Christmas market.My main idea was to make my lego figure look the same size as the present but then i had the idea given to me to make my lego figure is lifting the present.This is going to be my photo I want to sell.Once we have printed our photo we will place it in a frame.

The lesson before the shoot we researched target audience.Target audience is a group of people who would be interested in buying your product.When selling a product you have to make it appeal to your audience and make it look professional. Below are a few photos from the shoot.The first photo is one of my favourites as the lights gives the background

On Halloween the whole group dressed up and we were all split into three groups.One group would be the models first then the other two groups would either be the audience or the photographers.Being a fashion show photographer for the afternoon was quite fun.Each group had to make sure that their camera was on the correct ISO ,shutter speed and aperture before we began.In the room we were in there was on two lights on which is why we made sure the camera was set up properly.Being a photographer was interesting as you had to be quick in taking your photos and using different angles.Being the model was also fun as you could pose and show people you outfit.The audiences job was to cheer on the models and watch.

 

 

 

I printed off two photos which were my best photos. I then brought a frame and placed each photo to see which one I liked the best.I decided on the first image as it is more forced perspective than the second one. After i decided on a price (£8).Hopefully my product will sell.
