There are many other sites where you can show your work including Instagram,Wix,Weebly and Flickr.

Instagram 

Instagram is a platform which allows you to share photos to your followers.Many people use it to post their photography but also a way of keeping in contact with friends.It allows you to edit your images before posting.You can also watch videos on Instagram.Wordpress and Instagram are quite similar except WordPress is more of a blogging platforming where you can write more.Wheras on Instagram you write captions.

Wix

Wix is a platform which allows you to create a website designing it yourself which is quite similar to WordPress.This is because when you first use WordPress you choose what your blogging website will look like.You can also write a blog on Wix which is what you can do on WordPress.In that way they are very similar.

I have enjoyed using WordPress as it is simple to use and clear .Over the past months we have been writing our blogs about each project.When we first started to blog my entries were not that long but as time has gone on they have got longer and more detailed in my opinion.It did take me a while to get used to the site but I managed it.In my opinion I think WordPress was a good way of displaying my work as you can add your images and go through how you managed to create it.It is also a good platform as many other people which are doing similar things to you  can see your work so they may give you tips.

I would continue to use WordPress as it gives you a lot of space to write what you want and display your images in different ways.Eg slideshow or collage.Each week I would write a blog post but sometimes I wouldn’t post it that week as it wouldn’t be completed.So if I was to do this blog project again I would try and keep up to date with my posts and upload them the week I do them.It was in the first project where i fall a bit behind but then I got a bit better when doing the next project. I tried to keep up to date in this project.For a few of my posts I did not add images so next time I would.I enjoyed writing about the latest project the most.I found the project the before difficult to write about especially forced perspective.Overall  I have liked using WordPress and have had a good journey as I have progressed as we got further in to the blog.

Maurizio Anzeri 

Maurizio Anzeri is an artist who threads into old photos which he calls photo sculptures.His images are described as people with costumes on.The way he sews into a photo could tell us how he portrays the people.I noticed in a-lot of his photos he sew around the right eye.

Mana Morimoto

Mana Morimoto is an artist from japan.She stitches into photos from the internet to create her own image.Her work is interesting as a lot of the images have lines coming out of their eyes.I like her work because she has put her own twist on other peoples work.

Stacey page

Stacey page is an artist who embroides into vintage images.I like her work as it is so detailed and they are all unique.The detail and colours she uses in her photos make them stand out.She uses a variety of colours and patterns.

For this final shoot I decided to do landscape photography as I enjoyed it the most out of the three.In a group we decided to go to the places we had planned.First we went to liquorice park where it had perfect opportunities for landscape photos.After we went down near the Brayford.My plan changed a bit after going to Liqourice park as I was going to go to the castle.I think most of my photos were successful.I used landscape mode on my camera to see how my images would turned out.I decided to use the rule of thirds and leading lines.If I was to do this shoot again I would use manual mode on my camera as a few images were a little dark and one a little bit bright.Choosing my final three images was hard but I choose my favourite three which I had ideas of what to sew into them.I was gien the idea to sew around the clouds.

For this shoot we did still life so I  brought in two objects which I thought would create interesting images.We used each others objects to create a photo with a similar theme.For example we had a bottle of perfume, a lipstick and a smaller bottle of perfume.We also had a ring holder and some rings.My favourite photo from this shoot was a photo which included my ring holder.I took the picture from birds eye view so you could see the arrow going down.This shoot didn’t go that well.My photos started off too dark but then found the correct settings for the shoot.After finding the correct settings the images then were not in focus.Sone of the images turned out quite nice.By using a light in this shoot it would cast a shadow which gave my photos a spooky effect.I then chose two prints to practise sewing into.In this lesson I learnt how important the composition of a photo is.Before taking our own images we looked at photographers who do still life photography.One of them was called Katya.She used so many bright colours in her work which make them unique.For my first photo I decided to fill the empty space so I choose two bright colours.For my second photo I decorated the plant pot a bright colour.

In this lesson  we went out taking landscape photos using different techniques.These techniques were framing, rule of thirds, leading lines and converging lines.Leading lines is a line in the photo which draws our attention to the main subject.Framing is a natural frame around the subject.Converging lines is like leading lines but have parallel lines leading towards subject.Rule of thirds is a grid where the main focus lays on one of the lines.For each I took a few photos.I found that leading lines was easier to do then the others as there were many opportunities to  take a photo as I was walking around.This shoot went well as I created two successful images I will sew into.In my group we first went to the Lincolnshire life museum as we found the gate was a good photo to create a framing photo.Afterwards we went to  the back entrance of the castle where we took some framing and converging lines photos.Going down steep hill I also took converging lines but also leading lines.On the way to the museum there was a path  where a man walking his dog.He was towards the end of the path so I captured that photo a the perfect time as the path leads our attention to him.If I was to do this shoot again I would try to take some of my photos from different angles to add interest.When I had finished the shoot I created a contact sheet and then the next lesson printed two A4 prints. This was the first shoot we did.We all went into the studio and used different lighting styles to create portraits .They were Rembrandt, butterfly and split lighting.

Rembrandt lighting is a style of lighting where there is a triangle formed on the opposite side of the face from where the light is being directed from.

Split lighting is is when you direct the lighting on the face so half the face is lit and the other side is dark.

Butterfly lighting is where there is a shadow under the nose which is said to look like a butterfly.

Once we had completed the shoot we create a  contact sheet and the next lesson we printed out two A4 prints to sew into.

For this lesson we went into the studio and were taking portraits using different lighting techniques.At the start of the shoot my camera settings were not correct as my images were too bright .I then experimented by changing the f-stop and aperture to see if it would make it.When the settings were correct my images then appeared to look orange.Unfortunately all my images look orange as I didn’t figure out how to fix it.When it came to printing them out I tried to edit the orange out a bit and they turned out alright when I printed them out.I liked creating split lighting images as I like the effect it has on the image.When taking each photo it was important to stand directly in front of the model so you would get the effect of the lighting.

My first attempt of sewing into photos went better than I  thought it would.AlthoughI wasn’t that good to start off I  got better so I will practise to try and make it neater. For my first photo I recreated one of my artists work  named Mana Morimoto but added my own twist to it.I made the lines come out of the eyes on both eyes.But the lines came out and go in a different direction.For my second image i took inspiration  from Maurizio Anzeri.I sewed around the eye and created a triangle.In a lot of his work he draws our attention to the eye.This image didn’t go as well as my first one.This is because I went wrong a few times and left too big gaps between the stitching.

This project is split into three tasks.Task one is researching into  two other artists who sew into photographs and analysis their work .The next task in the project will be to take my own images and sew into them.We will practise doing portraits, landscape and still life and then sewing into them.Once we have practised we will create 3 A3 photos sewn into. Next we will be taking photos that tell a journey.
