This was the first shoot we did.We all went into the studio and used different lighting styles to create portraits .They were Rembrandt, butterfly and split lighting.
Rembrandt lighting is a style of lighting where there is a triangle formed on the opposite side of the face from where the light is being directed from.
Split lighting is is when you direct the lighting on the face so half the face is lit and the other side is dark.
Butterfly lighting is where there is a shadow under the nose which is said to look like a butterfly.
Once we had completed the shoot we create a contact sheet and the next lesson we printed out two A4 prints to sew into.
